I have been sewing and knitting since my early teens. I added weaving and then spinning to my skills in the early 1980’s when I moved to St. Mary’s County and met Barbara Townsend, who taught spinning in her home. “I love learning new techniques, and I’m a practical person who can’t sit without some fiber work in my hands. I’ve found that spinning and weaving are particularly soothing, rhythmic crafts that also let me make items that I can really use.”
